Prof. Dr. Georg Kreis wurde 2009 als Professor für Neuere Allgemeine Geschichte am Historischen Seminar der Universität Basel emeritiert, er ist hingegen nach wie vor Institutsleiter und Dozent am Europainstitut der Universität Basel (siehe folgende Website www.europa.unibas.ch).
